There is a difference

For those who might not be aware, the culture that everyone refers to as Asian and all those who comprise this culture (those from the orient and with slanted eyes) are ACTUALLY a combination of multiple different nations that just so happen to be part of the Asian continent. That's why they are refered to as "Asian". One thing that Linda finds funny is when someone (usually white) come up to her and asks, "Where are you from?" Linda, knowing what they really want to know, simply states, "Houston." "No, no, no...I mean where are you FROM?" Again she simply says, "Houston." Then the person says something like, "What race are?" Linda then says that her parents are from Vietnam.
HERE is where the fun REALLY begins. You see, it does not matter that Linda is VIETNAMESE. She is Asian, so in the mind of most white people, she MUST know of all the other Asian what-not. A few days ago, this situation happen to Linda and the person talking to her kept trying to talk to her in Korean. Even when Linda said that Vietnamese and Korean are two completely different languages, the other person kept trying.
So, next time you talk to an Asian person...don't be dumb.
